switzerlandIt’s no secret that I’ve often thought of the possibility of living in France or Switzerland. Last year, I even looked into jobs at the UN and the WHO in Geneva. Yes, I speak French and yes I have an MBA, which qualifications make me somewhat employable in a management role in a multinational organization.

And speaking of the UN, each year the UN Development Program releases an ordered list of the best countries in the world to live*. France and Switzerland are in the top ten. (The US fell a spot to land at 13th).

  1. Norway
  2. Australia
  3. Iceland
  4. Canada
  5. Ireland
  6. the Netherlands
  7. Sweden
  8. France
  9. Switzerland
  10. Japan

How Iceland got on that list I’ll never know. Places not to live? The bottom four are:

  • 179th: Central African Republic
  • 180th: Sierra Leone
  • 181st: Afghanistan
  • 182nd: Niger

Where in the world would you like to live? Oh, and yes, I’ve asked Rach and she’s okay with living overseas.
